SITAR FUSION
Prosad has been studying Classical Sitar for many years now with Sitar Master Ustad Irshad Khan. His teacher's lineage, known as the "Imdad Khan-i Etawa Gharana", dates back 400 years. Ustad Irshad Khan's ancestors played for the ancient kings of India and are credited with pioneering the modern style of sitar playing accepted widely today.
WEDDING SITAR MUSIC OPTIONS
Solo Sitar "Elegance"
Our Solo Sitar "Elegance" option offers the best of simplicity, class and style. Using the latest technology, Prosad will perform Classical Sitar with background tabla beats created in a professional recording studio. The quality of the tabla samples are so high that if you couldn't see the stage, you wouldn't know that there is not a real tabla player there. The organic and mystical quality of the sitar brings the music alive. All of our clients who have chosen this option have been very satisfied.
Sitar and Tabla "Virtuosity"
Our deluxe sitar and tabla "Virtuosity" option offers the premier choice of a traditional North Indian Classical Sitar and Tabla Recital. Having a live tabla player will enhance the distinguished quality of this ancient and graceful music.
In 2008 Prosad performed this type of recital for Prince Edward of the British Realms. This performance option offers the ultimate in authentic and traditional Classical Indian Music.
Ancient Ragas / Modern Beats "Fusion"
Our "Fusion" option is one that many of our clients are now taking advantage of. It includes a combination of Classical Sitar and Fusion Sitar. Fusion Sitar is a mix of ancient ragas played to modern beats (visit our music page to hear samples). We will often start the night with Classical Sitar and then slowly move into Fusion Sitar, based on the feeling of the crowd. It is very popular with our guests (surprisingly even among our older and more traditional guests). It can be played as background music during the "cocktail hour" or even later as part of the dance. We are happy to customize this package to your specific requests.
