I had the pleasure of meeting celebrity bridal stylist and star of the hit show Brides of Beverly Hills, Renee Struass and Youngsong Martin (Wildflower Linen) a few months ago when I was invited to dinner by my friend Donald at the Park Hyatt. I couldn’t resist the invite because I had seen her speak at Wedding MBA in Vegas and she was so much fun. It turned out to be an intimate soiree with a handful of Toronto’s top wedding planners in attendance. We chatted away for a few hours getting to know each other and I learned that Renee is more than a reality TV star. She is a shrewd business woman and a lovely person.
It was rather serendipitous that not long after that I was presented with the opportunity to bring her back to Canada for Canadian Special Events during “Canada Meet Week”. Together with Danielle and Tracey, co-founders of The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada, Paras Mehta (event designer extraordinaire), and Greg Bell from Decor and More we are teaming up to create a hub of wedding activity for wedding pros of all levels this year at the Canadian Special Events LIVE trade show on April 15’14.
