TORONTO WEDDING PLANNER – French Inspired Wedding Theme – Inspiration
Today’s blog is brought to you by Fusion Events very own Interior Designer and Certified Toronto Wedding Planner, Erica Reavell, WPICC:
My inspiration for this blog comes from my friend Victoria who is crazy for all things French/Parisienne. Of course it would be fitting for her to have a French themed wedding and so I put together an inspiration board representing what her wedding might look like. I excitedly showed her what I had envisioned for her big day…..”you had me at baguette” she replied, which meant that the rest was spot on. This inspiration board ties sophisticated french country charm with lavish elegance.
The romantic french lace invitation was the starting point for this board . The vintage post cards below can be a great alternative to the traditional guest book ideas, or could be used as unique thank you cards. The subtle cream and lavender flowers in the bouquet are rustic and romantic which tie into the elegant table decor. From the bouquet to the table arrangements and decor, to the green and cream French Macaroon favors, all textures and colours come together to create a cohesive event design.
Now you may be asking, How do you bring France to Toronto’s concrete landscape? I believe that designing the perfect French inspired wedding begins with the perfect Toronto Wedding Venue, and a few fine details. The Fermenting Cellar in the Historic Distillery District would be the perfect place because it exudes a vintage/rustic feel, and is one to Toronto’s most romantic wedding venues. A converted building from 1859, The Fermenting Cellar, with heavy timber beams and original limestone walls, is the perfect blank canvas for a french transformation.
Patachou Patisserie in Summer Hill is the perfect French Bakery to provide a late night sweet table and macaroon guest favors.
The Chavari Chair, designed in 1807 in the town of Chavari (once a capitol of the first French Empire) is a favorite of all brides, both modern and traditional. Chavari chairs come in various colours to fit each theme, and the brown chairs with a cream cushion would be perfect for this french inspired wedding.
The flower bouquet consists of white peonies, blue larkspur, lavender lisianthus, and green celosia. Together the four flowers harmoniously blend to create a romantic bridal bouquet, fitting for this lavish french inspired event.
