Vintage Jazz

 Toronto Jazz Band – iSpy

Born on the west coast of Vancouver Island and raised in Victoria, Rebecca Everett’s musical endeavors showcase the diversity of both the landscape and the artists that make up the western-most point of Canada. A multi-instrumentalist, she began playing the violin at the age of four and soon incorporated piano, ukulele, and guitar into her repertoire. After a few years on the Victoria music scene, which saw her perform in many local bands and as a solo act, she was offered a publishing deal with Ole Media Management.

She soon relocated to Toronto. Her time at Ole saw Rebecca write with many artists and she traveled extensively across North America and Europe (Nashville, LA, New York, London, Sweden and Paris). It was during this time that Rebecca began writing songs for her new release.

Rebecca Everett’s upcoming record, YoYo, is a culmination of her musical intrigues and tastes. While firmly rooted in pop, it spans genres ranging from early twentieth century Parisian torch songs to jazz, vintage rhythm and blues, klezmer, and folk. Recorded in New York with Grammy nominated and Juno Award winning producer and engineer Roman Klun (Sarah McLaughlin, Levon Helm), this collection of songs truly represents a unique artist coming into her own. Dreamy background vocals, violins, ukulele and soaring Mexican trumpets are a few of the distinctive sounds that await the listener.

Rebecca’s Toronto Jazz Band, iSpy is now available as a jazz duo, trio and quartet for weddings and events in Toronto and surrounding areas. Rebecca is also available as a soloist. Call us today to speak to one of our helpful agents to discuss your upcoming event.
